Dashboard Integration of Xcelsius, GIS Mapping and Reporting | Press Release

Kitchener, Ontario, Canada – Jan 13, 2008 – APOS Systems, a leading provider of extensions to the Business Objects platform and an ESRI Authorized Business Partner, today announced a beta program for its new Dashboard Builder support for the APOS Integration Kit for ESRI GIS solution. This powerful feature enhancement will allow ESRI GIS maps to interact with Business Objects reports and Xcelsius models in a unified dashboard view.
 "Xcelsius is a very popular analytical tool that can be combined with Web Intelligence reports or Crystal Reports within Dashboard Builder. With today's announcement, an interactive GIS mapping element can now also be incorporated into these dashboards, as either a source or target analytic," said Ofir Gil, Chief Technology Officer of APOS Systems Inc.
As an example of this advancement in 'location intelligence,' here's a simple instance of using this new feature in a dashboard with four analytics:
- Xcelsius – by setting this analytic as the 'source' for the dashboard, the other three analytic elements are automatically refreshed with relevant content
- ESRI GIS map – mapping information that relates to the selected element within the Xcelsius analytic, with a live map for additional drill-down analysis
- Web Intelligence – additional analysis information that relates to the selected element within the Xcelsius analytic
- Crystal Report – additional analysis information that relates to the selected element within the Xcelsius analytic
 The APOS Integration Kit for ESRI GIS offers full bidirectional integration between Business Objects XI and ESRI ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS and ArcGIS Desktop. In addition to this new Dashboard Builder support, the solution allows an innovative 'side-by-side' presentation, where a map and a report are side by side in one view, with the ability to click on the report to refresh the map, or click on the map to refresh the report.
