Geography Matters at APOS | Solution Architecture

The APOS Location Intelligence Solution is getting a lot of attention at APOS. We are constructing industry focused webinars to promote the use of Location Intelligence in vertical markets to meet the needs of your feedback.

Many organizations understand the value of Location Intelligence, but do not understand how to implement the technology into their existing infrastructure.

The marriage of Location intelligence and BI is a complex relationship. Understanding the inner-workings of the APOS Location Intelligence Solution can help you communicate the value of the solution with your peers.

The APOS Location Intelligence Solution is a collection of components that allows any organization to add the spatial dimension of location within existing SAP BusinessObjects deployments. The solution consists of three main components:

  • APOS Dynamic Hub for SAP BusinessObjects
  • APOS Dynamic Hub for ESRI
  • APOS LIVE Viewer
  • The Dynamic Hub for SAP BusinessObjects manages connections between SAP BusinessObjects deployments and the spatial data requests. The hub communicates to a majority of the SAP BusinessObjects reports. The hub also communicates to reporting objects stored in external delivery mechanisms like web sites or pdfs. This communication is bi-directional, which means parameters can be passed between the target and the source, resulting in a real-time interactive experience.

    The Dynamic Hub for ESRI works in a similar fashion to the dynamic hub for SAP BusinessObjects, however, it manages the connections to on-premise ESRI data. Organizations who have an ESRI GIS system on premise can access data stored in the geodatabase and sophisticated GIS workflow's stored in geoprocessing models.

    The two hubs work together translating, transferring and presenting the data between systems. This means a map can react to a parameter change in a report, and a report can update a map based on a selection of spatial objects.

    The APOS LIVE viewer is a flex based interactive viewer that hosts both ESRI Data and SAP BusinessObjects driven visualization layers. The viewer integrates with all SAP BusinessObject content types either directly or in a dashboard builder environment and can be embedded into any platform that can drive an Adobe FLEX component.

    The customer is always right.

    APOS News

    This is a common adage in the marketplace and without “the customer”, all businesses would fail.

    To this end, creating industry leading software begins with the needs of the customer, however, the story doesn't end there. What we tend to forget is the rate at which technology evolves and how these changes create increased demands on time and more importantly, resources.

    To keep pace with the World, APOS constantly improves its solutions, using feedback from its customers. We take our feedback seriously! Since January, three of our solutions have been upgraded with improvements to meet the growing needs of our customers;
