Archive Manager
Historical successful report instances can now be archived using business rules.
Archive Manager allows historical successful report instances to
be archived using a comprehensive set of business rules. These powerful business
rule settings provide the administrator with the ultimate in archiving flexibility
and may be assigned at the folder/subfolder levels or even at the report object
level itself.
Archive Manager runs as a background service, either on your BusinessObjects
XI/Crystal Enterprise system or on a computer that has connectivity to it. As the
Administrator, you instruct Archive Manager to scan your system on a specific schedule
to identify any instances eligible for archiving, based on the assigned business
rules for each folder/subfolder/report. Once eligible instances are identified in
this manner, Archive Manager will then execute the requested archiving activity
Using the power of AddressBook Gateway, you can now . .
As an alternative to archiving off-line, Archive Manager also supports an internal
archiving option - designed to improve end-user performance in larger systems just
as if the instances were physically removed while also allowing these archived instances
to be ‘retrieved’ back to active use. Another advantage of this internal archiving
capability is that all security settings are maintained.
Administrators can now . . .
-
set maximum instance rules by user, user group, folder, subfolder, report, # of
days
-
convert rpt instance format during Offline archiving - pdf, rtf, doc, xls, etc.
-
automatically delete successfully archived report instances
-
automatically mimic XI/CE’s folder structure for archived instances
-
improve performance through internal archiving
-
authorize specific users to ‘retrieve internally archived instances’
Archive Manager supports BusinessObjects XI, BusinessObjects EDGE,
BusinessObjects Crystal Decisions, Crystal Reports Server and Crystal Enterprise
