Replacing the Report Broadcasting Capabilities of BEx Broadcaster

Customer Profile

A global agricultural supply management organization, this company provides a fully integrated agriculture network connecting producers and consumers for sustainable, traceable and quality-controlled agricultural products. They have a presence in nearly 40 countries and a workforce of over 15,000.

Landscape & Core Challenge

This organization had been managing their data in BW 7.5, powered by HANA, and using BEx Analyzer and BEx Broadcaster for report creation and broadcasting. The majority of report recipients do not have access to SAP data by any other means.

Problem:
In moving to BW/4HANA, the company lost its BEx Analyzer and BEx Broadcaster capabilities. While Analysis for Office could replace BEx Analyzer, SAP Analytics Cloud could not replace the broadcasting capabilities of BEx Broadcaster.

Without broadcasting capabilities in SAP Analytics Cloud, the company would be unable to keep stakeholders apprised of financial transactions, planning and forecasting, and would likely need to consider other analytics platforms.

Solution Barriers

SAP Analytics Cloud Publications restrictions:

• BEx Analyzer and BEx Broadcaster are not supported by BW/4HANA
• SAP Analytics Cloud does not have AfO broadcasting capabilities
• Most report recipients are not SAP users and have no other way to access important information
