Custom Calendars - Controlling Process Timing in Publisher
Flexible process timing has always been an important feature in APOS Publisher. Now process timing is even more flexible with the introduction of custom calendars.
Process timing allows you to schedule report generation and distribution by date and time, but now you can specify, and even build, custom calendars to simplify the scheduling process.
Process timing uses execution triggers to launch report generation and distribution, including:
- Date and time - single or recurring; hourly, daily, weekly, monthly
- Command line - process chain integration; automation tool integration; bot integration
- Conditional - business rules driven; execution by threshold value criteria; data load completion
- Agentic AI - integration with Agentic AI; drive broadcasts with dynamic selection of reports, recipients, filters
Custom calendars complement data and time scheduling automation. Publisher includes preconfigured calendars such as:
- Every day
- Work days
- Last day of the month
- First day of the month
- 15th of every month
But administrators can also configure custom calendars by selecting the days, months and the years. They can limit the calendar using ranges. They can create a variety of customized calendars to use to schedule reports according to irregular or special repetitive patterns. For example, they can exclude public holidays and create multiple calendars to account for various geographic locations.
Once selected or defined, your custom calendars become available for scheduling in the desktop application and in the web scheduling interface.
